Effective and balanced communication has at least 4 elements:

1) Inquiring

2) Paraphrasing

3) Defining

4) Acknowledging

1) Inquiring - Ask real questions and not insinuations phrased as a question.

2) Paraphrasing - Repeat the answer in your own works and then ask if your understanding is correct.

3) Defining - Say how things should be and what should be done.

4) Acknowledging - Express in some way that the communication was received and understood.
